Bird Watching

Tourists aren't the only visitors who flock to the Shuswap.  Widely varied habitat - rivers, lakes & wetlands - attracts as many as 250 bird species.  Swans spend their winter on the Shuswap River.  Others arrive each year to raise their young.  The area is a favourite fall stop over for Canadian Geese.  Get your binoculars out for a chance to see a Great Blue Heron, Osprey fishing in the lakes or Bald Eagles feeding their young and listen to the beauty of the Yellow Warblers song.
