Salmon Arm Bay Nature Park The Salmon Arm Bay is one of only two places in British Columbia where the Western Grebe has established a breeding colony. In the spring and fall the shoreline is haven for a wide variety of migratory birds consisting of over 150 species. Western Grebe, red tailed hawks, red winged blackbirds, bald eagles, yellow headed blackbirds, various swallows, various ducks and many more.

SABNES - Salmon Arm Bay Nature Enhancement Society
- Sabnes was formed in 1986. Their mandates are to assist the Provincial Gov't Wildlife Branch with the development and operation of their management plan for the Salmon Arm foreshore as a Nature Conservancy and viewing area. Sabnes' mandate is also to develop, operate and promote a system of walkways, viewing areas and interpretive facilities for scientific, educational, environmental awareness and assist in projects meeting that goal in the Salmon Arm area.
