The Chase area is the western gateway to the
recreational splendor of the Shuswap region. Chase is nestled on the
shores of Little Shuswap Lake, in the mountains at the eastern end of
the South Thompson River Valley, and is conveniently situated on Hwy
1.
The lifestyle is relaxed and pleasant, with
the amenities of a city combined with an outdoor playground amidst
spectacular scenery. The community of Chase, with its warm summer days,
has a golf course plus beautiful beaches and parks. The nearby lakes and
rivers are ideal for fishing, swimming, wakeboarding, and kayaking,
while the surrounding mountains and hills are popular with mountain
bikers, hikers, rock hounds, and cross-country skiers. The Neskonlith
Meadows are covered in beautiful wildflowers in spring and the Chase
Creek Falls are easily accessible. Mountain sheep often look down from
the mountains. The bird watching is exceptional, with Bald Eagles,
Osprey, Trumpeter and Tundra swans. A side trip to Falkland will reveal
The Pillar, a unique rock formation by Pillar Lake.
The main industries supporting this area are
forestry and tourism, with some agriculture and ranching, along with a
burgeoning group of local artisans. Rich cultural experiences are
provided by the three local First Nations bands; Little Shuswap Band,
Neskonlith Band, and Adams Lake Band. These bands annually host
traditional pow-wows showcasing native dancing and cuisine. The local
museum provides insight to the area's noteworthy past.
Come enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and
outstanding landscape of this community.
