BOATING

The average temperature in July is 27 degrees celcius- so whether you're canoeing along the lakeshore or houseboating across the lake - boating in the Shuswap is definitely an experience that you don't want to miss.

FISHING

The four arms of the Shuswap Lake have sandy shores and hidden coves and makes Shuswap Lake, the largest of many lakes in the area, the perfect habitat for a diversity of fish and wildlife. Fishing enthusiast will agree. We've got clear creeks, rushing rivers and more than 20 lakes filled with fish.  The system holds Lake Trout, Dolley Varden, Steelhead, Whitefish, Kokanee, and Burbot.  Four species of Salmon use these waters for spawning: Chinook, Coho, Pink and Sockeye. There are also Sturgeon in this system along with other bottom feeders like Squaw fish and Carp (found at the river mouths by Salmon Arm). White Lake is rated as one of the top ten Rainbow Trout fishing lakes in North America and is popular for ice fishing in the winter months.
